GALVALUME/ ALUZINC  ( Mill Finish or Painted)

Aluzinc, Zincalume and Galvalume are different trade names of the same  product. Aluzinc is cold rolled galvanized steel with metal coating composed of Aluminium (55%), Zinc (43,4%) and Slicon (1,6%).

Aluzinc is siutable for application in making:

•      roofing and flashings
•      wall claddings
•     gutters and downpipes
•      fences
•      steel house frames
•      garage doors
•    garden sheds
•      some vehicle exhaust components
•      flues

and other applications where long life is an essential requirement. It is formable, weldable and readily accepts paint finishes. Aluzinc coated steel has superior long term corrosion resistance in most atmospheric conditions. This is achieved through the combination of the sacrificial protection of the zinc and the barrier protection of the aluminum. Corrosion rates vary according to the severity of conditions, Alu-zinc steel coatings out-perform galvanized coatings from 2 – 6 times. The protective mechanism for Alu-zinc and hot-dip-galvanized steel are such that the hot-dip-galvanized coating initially protects better but the zinc coat will gradually corrode away more and more in the vicinity of the edge and the protective effect will be lost.Then the aluminum part of the Aluzinc coating will persist for a longer period of time, and the protection will thereby remain.

ALUMINUM ( Mill Finish or Painted)

The Aluminum roofing sheet metal is becoming a popular choice for use in installations and buildings. It is corrosion-resistant in almost any kind of environment. Even in highly-corrosive industrial environments, aluminum corrugated sheets is resistant to fumes and vapors of organic compounds and to chemicals like ammonia, carbon-dioxide and acids like hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulphuric acid. This corrosion-resistant property gives the metal a long life and keeps it looking good throughout its life.

The shine and brightness of aluminum livens its surroundings and because it doesn’t stain, discolor or rot, it looks bright and shiny for a long time. Aluminum corrugated sheet can take a variety of finishes, colours and textures, which protect it and add further to its appearance.

Aluminium roofing sheet-An alumunium structure can be easily dismantled, transported and re-assembled to a new location. Though the metal is a good conductor of heat, its high reflectivity of radiant heat and light (75 to 80 per cent when new, 60 per cent after several years) keeps the interiors of an aluminum building from five to eight degree celsius cooler in summer while its low emission rate cuts heat loss during winter.

Aluminium roofing sheet is easy to maintain and can be washed easily.

Dana Steel Inaugurates it’s State-of-Art Steel Drums & Barrel Making Line in Ajman UAE

Dana Steel Processing Industry LLC has recently commissioned the Drum and Barrel Making Factory . A successful trial was carried out on March 15^th 2017. The fully automatic state -of-art machine is more than 100mtrs long and can produce Drums especially for industrial storage and transport. It can also produce a range of other products, including 210ltr Cylindrical drums, Oil Barrels, open top drums, grease storage drums, chemical storage drums, lubricant and oil storage drums, food storage drums which requires high quality raw material and even food grade steel material in thickness ranging from 0.80mm – 1.40mm.  Dr B S Dana,  Chairman of Dana Group of Companies, Dr Ankur Dana, CEO of Dana Group of companies, along with commissioning engineers, newly recruited engineering and sales staff attended the opening ceremony on 19^th March 2017.

Based on the technology being employed and the design of the facility, the mill will produce a range of material dimensions and strength levels never before produced in a Drum Making Machine. Dana Steel Processing Industry LLC imported steel plate from Korea to manufacture its 210 litre drums, primarily used for industrial storage and transport purposes. The Raw Material used for Drum Making is Cold Rolled Steel with high tensile strength, specifically suited for moulding and drum making, the grade is PRIME COLD ROLLED COILS AS PER JIS G3141 SPCC-SD, ( Suitable for drum barrel making) in thicknesses ranging from 0.80mm – 1.40mm. The factory is just a stepping stone for our foray into Drum Making and it has an “excellent potential for expansion”. The launch of Dana Drum Making Machine has taken place at a new facility in Ajman Al Jurf 2 Industrial Area. The commissioning of the new unit has a production potential of over 1000,000(one million)  drums a year. First batch of Drum Order was processed for Sister Company Dana Lubricants Factory LLC and the drums have already been loaded on in a container destined to Latin America. “We have a sizable offtake for our Drums ready within UAE, our sister company Dana Lubricants Factory has close to 30 containers loading per week and a majority of our orders are for Lubricant Oil filled in Drums or IBCs” says, Dr Ankur, CEO of Dana Group of Companies.

DANA Steel Install’s it’s 4th Coil Service Center in Ajman UAE

The launch of Dana Steel Processing Industry Ajman Coil Service Center #4  has taken place at a new facility in Ajman Al Jurf 2 Industrial Area.This is the Group’s 4th Coil Service Center in the region. The commissioning of the new unit will increase Steel processing capacity by 250,000 metric tonnes annually. Experience of cutting-edge Korean companies was used in designing the new Cut To Length and Slitting machine for Dana Group’s new project in Ajman. The new cut to length line will be able to process steel coils of maximum 40 MT in weight, in a thickness range of 0.1 mm to 15 mm, in coil width of 800 mm to 2,000 mm and of all grades including commercial, shipbuilding and high tensile strength coils. DANA Steel stated that this is one of the most modern cut to length lines in the region capable of handling heavy and wide coils. The unit is fitted with modern equipment, and all processes are computer-controlled to set up different modes and speeds of Steel Slitting and Cutting. Special attention was paid to environmentally-friendly technological solutions to minimizing the unit’s environmental footprint. While reflecting upon the journey travelled all through Dana Group’s Timeline, Dr Dana said “We are thrilled to be commemorating this milestone alongside our valued suppliers, buyers and staff, who have supported us all through this journey”.

Dana Group spent approximately 40 Million USD on this programme in 2016. Dana Steel’s development strategy also envisages organization of the production of Slit coils, roll formed products, optimize drum making operations and modernisation of Cut To Length and Slitting Line machine in the plate mill, as well as increasing production capacity of the Dana Steel Processing Industry Ajman Coil Service Center.

 Dr Dana, Chairman of Dana Group of Companies, added: “As part of Dana Group’s OPEFF Programme, we have also completed the Refurbishing of DanaSteel UAQ Panel Machine. Also, the launch of Dana Group’s Drum Making Factory and Grease Manufacturing Plant will give a new momentum to Dana Group’s development.”

The total investment in the construction for Dana Group’s OPEFF programme amounted to 40 million USD in 2016.

Lithium Grease

Composition : Lubricating greases basically are composed of a thickener (10 to 15 percent), base oil (80 to 90 percent) and performance additives (5 to 10 percent). The main components of lithium soaps are lithium stearate and lithium 12-hydroxystearate.^[Majority lubricating greases are consists of lithium/lithium complex, calcium, sodium, aluminum/aluminum complex, calcium sulfonate, clay based, polyurea, etc. Lithium based greases are most commonly used  covering 75 percent market share globally .

Multi-Purpose Grease

Multi-purpose grease as name suggests can be applied in more than one application. For example, lithium grease can be applied both in chassis and wheel bearing applications of transport vehicles. Traditionally, calcium greases were used for chassis, and sodium-based greases were utilized for wheel bearings.

Comparison of Calcium versus Sodium versus Lithium Multipurpose Grease

Calcium Grease provide good level of protection against water as calcium is water resistant but they are having low drop point and operating temperature range is less than 100 C . However , Sodium Grease have higher drop point and are used in wheel bearings with higher operating temperature range of 120 C+ but they lack in water resistance . On other hand , Lithium Grease combines benefits of both Calcium and Sodium grease with high level of protection against water , shear and extreme pressure with higher operating temperature conditions and drop point . Grease made with lithium soap  adheres particularly well to metal, is non-corrosive, may be used under heavy loads, and exhibits good temperature tolerance. It has a drop temperature of 190 to 220 °C and resists moisture,

Comparison of Lithium Complex versus Calcium Sulfonate Grease

Lithium-complex greases exhibits good stability, high-temperature and water-resistance properties. Other performance requirements like extreme pressure, anti-wear, rust and corrosion are improved by adding suitable additives. Calcium-sulfonate greases out-perform lithium-complex greases and the most important difference between these two types of grease is that calcium-sulfonate greases do not typically need additives to meet certain performance requirements like lithium-complex greases do.Calcium-sulfonate greases exhibit superior mechanical and shear stability compared to lithium-complex greases, indicating less leakage and run-out during operation. Calcium-sulfonate thickeners have inherent extreme-pressure and anti-wear propertiesin addition to natural rust inhibitor quality.

Water resistant property of Lithium Complex greases are fortified using Tackifiers which are prone to deplete in presence of water however calcium sulfonates have naturally excellent water-resistant properties.Calcium-sulfonate grease can also be applied in more types of industries compared to lithium-complex greases, thus making it the preferred choice for a high-performance multi-purpose grease.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Each DANA WATER CHILLER has a built-in recirculation water pump, Condensor, evaporator, compressor and control panel. The system is designed such that it re-circulates the water between the water tank & chiller till the preset temperature is reached.Once the temperature is reached the unit automatically switches off. There are LED lights on the unit indicating the operation of compressor.

We understand the needs of the client and also design custom-made chillers upto 50 Ton cooling capacity.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The tank capacity :- As a thumb rule our DANA DC-2000(2 ton chilling system) can cool upto 700 gallons water tank,DANA DC-3000(3 ton chilling system) can cool upto 1000 gallons water tank and DANA DC-5000(5 ton chilling system) can cool upto 1500 gallons water tank.

Usage :- Higher usage(Frequent emptying of the water tank) means a higher cooling capacity(refrigeration tonnage) will have to be used,so accordingly our experts can size the unit.

Hydraulic Oil is medium through which power is transmitted in hydraulic machinery .Hydraulic Oil is used in equipments like excavators , cranes, forklifts ,lifts ,industrial machinery , power steering systems ,transmissions . Hydraulic Fluid has great impact on system performance. ISO International Organization for Standardization ( ISO )has set standards to distinguish between hydraulic oil based on properties like Viscosity , Operating Temperature Range .

Pump Efficiency is also dependent on Hydraulic Oil . Flow losses in pump depends on factors like viscosity of the fluid , pressure difference

Viscosity and its relation with temperature is of great importance .Viscosity changes with temperature shall be controlled . In the Viscosity- Temperature Chart  . Kinematic Viscosities at 40 C and 100C is measured using Ubbelohde Viscometer  which is widely used in other International Standards like ISO3104 , ISO3105 , ASTM D446 ,BS188,IP-71.

Comparison between HH/ HL/ HM Hydraulic Fluids

Type HH hydraulic Fluids are made from refined mineral oils with no additives . They are used in simple operations like Manual pumps , jack systems  and low pressure applications . They are now not much used because of inability to operate at higher temperature and provides limited lubrication only. Type HL fluids are most commonly used as they have additives for antioxidants , rust inhibitors for providing extra  protection and is mainly used in piston pump applications . HM Fluid is a type of HL Fluid with  anti-wear properties  due to additional phosphorus , zinc and sulphur .

Viscosity Index

Higher the VI of oils , more stable the fluid is . If VI of fluid is very low , the viscosity of fluid becomes very high at low temperatures . During high working temperatures, if VI is low, the fluid becomes thin and wear occurs especially in pumps and motors. By adding VI improvers the anti-wear properties of the fluid can be improved. Standard to use test method is ASTM D2270 . Only  limitation of this methd  is that it can be used to calculate the viscosity index of the fluids where the kinematic viscosity is above 2 cSt at 100°C.

Bulk modulus (β) It is defined as the substance resistance to uniform compression or in simple terms it is also understood as  change in volume by change in pressure. The hydraulic fluids require low compressibility that means high bulk modulus which is useful for high pressure transmission and low power losses. The fluid with low bulk modulus acts as damping material for hydraulic system, but for poor bulk modulus the line sizes should be increased to compensate for the lower stiffness.[8] The SI unit of bulk modulus is Pascal (Pa) = N/m2

Effect of viscosity on System performance

System performance is measured in terms of efficiency namely – Mechanical efficiency and Volumetric efficiency . Performance of system comprising pumps and motors is best if fluid is selected such that viscosity of fluid is  enough to balance mechanical efficiency with volumetric efficiency.Mechanical efficiency relates to frictional losses .Volumetric efficiency relates to flow losses in the system. Both of these depend on the viscosity of the fluid. As shown in the below figure viscosity of fluid is directly proportional to volumetric efficiency and inversely proportional to mechanical efficiency of the system. So fluid should be selected satisfying both these efficiencies for the maximum overall efficiency of the system.

TOW Method ( Temperature Operating Window Method ) for viscosity selection

The most common method for selecting hydraulic fluid is Temperature Operating Window or TOW method. Based on experimental results majority of the pumps and motors provided satisfactory performance with a minimum of 13 cSt under operating conditions and maximum of 860 cSt during start –up of the system. The below fig is based on calculated temperature for the mid range ISO VG (between 13 cSt to 860 cSt) at 100 VI.

Environmental Hydraulic Oil has superior anti-wear and film strength properties and is ideal for use under high load and high pressure conditions. It is multi-metal compatible and protects against corrosion and rust. It is suitable for use wherever there’s an inherent risk of leaks or spills as  Non-toxic product is readily biodegradable .

Fire Resistant Hydraulic Fluids  reduces hazard in case of leakage under high pressure system .Even though most oil-based hydraulic fluids have relatively high flash/fire points (>300° F), small leaks in a high-pressure system can produce a finely atomized spray that can travel significant distances. Synthetic fluids initially contained  phosphate esters, which are reaction products between phosphoric acid and aromatic ring-structure alcohols called esters . These fluids are extremely fire resistant and have widespread industrial use, as well as military and aircraft service. However, their popularity has declined because of environmental, cost, and compatibility factors.

The other type of synthetic fluids in use are synthetic hydrocarbons, more specifically, polyol esters. These fluids are the reaction products between long-chain fatty acids (derived from animal and vegetable fats) and synthesized organic alcohols. These products contain additives to impart anti-wear properties, corrosion protection, and viscosity modification. Fire resistance results from a combination of high thermal properties and physical characteristics. This is the most recent category of FRHFs and has gained widespread and growing use.

Non toxic and readily biodegradable Fluids  will further expand the need to replace oil-based hydraulic fluids.
